This is an extractive summary: it scores your sentences by the words they use and keeps the strongest ones in their original order. It never rewrites your words, so nothing can be invented — but it also cannot rephrase a clumsy sentence. Rewriting needs a language model, which is not connected to Utilora.

Paste an article, a report or a long email and choose how many sentences you want back. The summariser scores every sentence by the words it uses, keeps the strongest ones, and leaves them in the order you wrote them.

How to use it

  1. Paste the text — a paragraph at least, so there is something to choose between.
  2. Set how many sentences the summary should have.
  3. Press Summarise, then read the words-in and words-out figures to see how much it saved.

Good to know

  • Sentences that use the text's most repeated meaningful words score highest, which is why names and topic words tend to survive.
  • The first and last sentences of a text get a small bonus: introductions and conclusions usually carry the point.

Frequently asked questions

Does it rewrite my text?

No. It is an extractive summariser: it chooses the strongest sentences from your own text and keeps them in their original order, so nothing can be invented.

Why is the summary not as smooth as I expected?

Because it keeps your sentences exactly as you wrote them. Turning a summary into flowing new prose needs a language model, which is not connected to Utilora.
